Selective Listening

It was a Sunday morning, a sunny day. A couple was basking on the open terrace of their penthouse. Husband had attended a late night party, where he drank heavily. In the mean time wife brought a cup of tea. Wife picked up the newspaper that was lying aside and started reading. Suddenly, she saw an article published in the newspaper on the bad effects of excessive drinking. She asked her husband to read it. Since, the husband was not in the mood to read she started reading the article a loud so as her husband can listen. She was reading very enthusiastically with appropriate paralinguistic and non-verbal communication. However, husband was still feeling the hangover effect of alcohol. After reading the whole article wife asked him about his opinion. Husband said, “OK, it will be stopped from tomorrow”. Wife was very happy that he would stop drinking. Next day morning it came to her as a big surprise when she realized that the newspaper was stopped.
